Basic Life Support (BLS)

This course will prepare the Healthcare Professional to identify and manage potential life threatening cardiac and respiratory emergencies in any healthcare setting, either alone or as part of a team.  Its conducted using current evidence based practices and ILCOR Resuscitation 2015 Guidelines.

Participants will be able to:

  • Recognize and Manage Sudden Cardiac Arrest
  • Recognize and Manage Choking
  • Recognize and Manage Unconscious but still Breathing Patients

This course will prepare the Healthcare Professional to identify and manage potential life threatening cardiac and respiratory emergencies in any healthcare setting, either alone or as part of a team.  Its conducted using current evidence based practices and ILCOR Resuscitation 2015 Guidelines.

  •  Name the elements of the Chain of Survival and discuss their impact on Cardiac Arrest.
  •  Identify the BLS care steps in managing Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
  •  Demonstrate the proper use of the AED Unit in the CPR Sequence.
  •  Describe the recognition of someone suffering an FBAO and discuss how to relieve it.
