Dealing with Students with Disorders (Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Personality Disorders)

Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, and related Personality Disorders of students have been the focus of increased professional concern in high schools and academic colleges in the past 20th century. Fortunately, clinicians and researchers alike now understand that these problems are real, serious, complex, and most importantly, treatable and even preventable in many cases.

This class of internalizing problems and personality disorders, particularly depression, anxiety, and bipolar, are the focus of this training course for college-based counsellors and practitioners. The topics and learning outcomes are specifically designed to be applicable to intervention in college settings and serve as a practical guideline and foundation for understanding internalizing problems in straightforward and practical terms. Participants are expected to develop understanding, evaluating, dealing and treating depression, anxiety, and related internalizing problems of students and youth.
