Course Overview
In this course, you will learn about the role and responsibilities of a fire watch, how to identify potential fire hazards, and how to respond effectively in the event of a fire emergency
Fire safety in buildings or factories must be effectively managed. Therefore, this course aims to research on fire prevention, fire development, fire containment, fire extinguishing and as well as methods for the management of fire safety measures to reduce the consequences of fires on humans, the environment.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to describe the specific duties and legal responsibilities of a fire watch personnel in various work environments.
- Participants will be able to actively identify potential fire hazards in a given area, particularly during hot work operations, and assess their associated risks.
- Participants will be able to apply proactive fire prevention strategies, including proper housekeeping, removal of combustibles, and ensuring adequate ventilation, before, during, and after hot work.
- Participants will be able to explain the stages of fire development and apply techniques to monitor for signs of fire and implement initial containment measures.
- Participants will be able to correctly select and operate appropriate fire extinguishing equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, water hoses) to combat small fires.
- Participants will be able to effectively initiate emergency response procedures, including sounding alarms, notifying emergency services, and guiding evacuations in the event of a fire.
