Course Overview
This course introduces participants to roller-compacted concrete (RCC) pavements, a durable and cost-effective alternative to conventional concrete pavement systems. Unlike traditional pavements, RCC does not rely on embedded steel, load transfer devices, or joints, making it unique in its placement and performance. Participants will explore the materials, construction methods, and placement techniques that define RCC, along with design scenarios that highlight its advantages. Real-world examples will demonstrate why RCC is increasingly chosen as a pavement solution. Additionally, the course provides access to key resources and references to support engineers, owners, and decision-makers in adopting RCC for their projects.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the fundamental characteristics of roller-compacted concrete pavements
